A milestone initiative by MATA, opens free health screening center in New Jersey

Mana America Telugu Association (MATA) has taken a monumental step in addressing healthcare needs for NRIs by inaugurating free health screening centers in New Jersey and Atlanta. This initiative underscores MATA’s unwavering commitment to promoting health awareness and providing accessible medical services for the Telugu diaspora.

The Free Health Screening Center, supported by Sai Datta Peetham & Cultural Center, offers a free venue to serve the community. The inaugural event saw active participation from numerous NRIs who availed themselves of general health check-ups, eye exams (in collaboration with SSAI), flu shots, and medicines provided with the support of Butterfly and Central Pharmacies.

Dignitaries present at this healthcare inaugurating event in New Jersey included Edison Council President Nish Patel, Saketh Chadalavada, and SDP Chairman Raghusarma Sankaramanchi, along with other prominent community leaders and supporter.

The successful implementation of this initiative was made possible by MATA’s core team, including Nagesh Chilakapati, Tony Jannu, Dr. Saraswati Lakkasani, and Kalyani Bellamkonda, and supported by MATA’s Advisory Council, Executive Committee (EC), Board of Directors (BODs), RVPs, Standing Committees, and a committed team of Youth volunteers, the event highlighted the power of collective effort.

During MATA’s Mother’s Day celebrations, actress Sreeleela and anchor Suma Kanakala inaugurated the MATA Health Helpline. At that time, plans for these health centers were announced. Staying true to his word, MATA Founder-President Srinivas Ganagoni has now established health screening centers in New Jersey and Atlanta, with future expansions in the pipeline.

MATA Founder-President Srinivas Ganagoni emphasized that this initiative is a long-term commitment to serving the Telugu community globally. “Our goal is to make healthcare accessible to everyone without financial barriers,” he stated. Youth actively volunteered and supported the event.
