Cumming, Georgia, June 21, 2026: The Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS) successfully conducted its “Adopt-A-Road” community service initiative on Sunday morning, bringing together enthusiastic youth volunteers, families, and community leaders for a large-scale roadside cleanup effort in Forsyth County.
The cleanup activity took place along a two-mile stretch between Old Atlanta Road and Buford Highway, an area adopted by GATeS as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and civic responsibility. Equipped with safety vests, litter grabbers, gloves, and collection bags, volunteers worked diligently to remove trash and debris, helping restore the beauty of the roadway and surrounding green spaces.
The event was organized as part of GATeS’ exclusive Youth Enrichment Program, providing young participants with an opportunity to engage in meaningful community service while learning the importance of environmental conservation and public responsibility. Volunteers of all ages actively participated, demonstrating a strong commitment to keeping Forsyth County clean and beautiful.
Speaking about the initiative, GATeS leaders expressed pride in the dedication shown by the volunteers and emphasized the organization’s mission of promoting community service alongside cultural and educational activities. “This program is not only about cleaning roads; it is about building responsible future leaders who understand the value of giving back to society,” said GATeS General Secretary Raghuveer Reddy. “The enthusiastic participation from our youth and families reflects the spirit of service that defines our organization.”
The cleanup effort resulted in the collection of multiple bags of litter and roadside waste, contributing to a cleaner environment and enhancing the appearance of the community. Volunteers were also recognized for their efforts with community service certificates upon completion of the event.
GATeS President Ramana Gandra thanked all participants, sponsors, and community supporters who made the initiative a success. He noted that the organization will continue to undertake similar service projects aimed at fostering environmental awareness, volunteerism, and community engagement.
The Adopt-A-Road program aligns with the organization’s broader vision of combining Service and Culture, encouraging youth to become active contributors to the communities they live in while preserving the environment for future generations.
Through initiatives like these, GATeS continues to strengthen its reputation as a community-focused organization dedicated to making a positive impact across the Greater Atlanta region.
