Johns Creek City Mayor graced Magnificent Makar Sankranti Utsav in Atlanta

‘Atlanta Indian Family’ in association with ‘Dance kidz Dance’ organized ‘Makar Sankranti Utsav’ in a grand way on January 30, 2022. This event was organized by two strong women Sruthi Chittoory, Founder of Atlanta Indian family and Swetha Pakala, Founder of Dance kidz Dance at Desana Middle School in the city of Alpharetta.

This grand event is celebrated in the presence of honorable chief guests Mr John Bradberry, Mayor of Johns Creek City, Mr Madan Kumar Ghildiyal, Consular of Indian Consulate, Atlanta, Mr Bob Erramilli, Johns Creek City Council member and Ex-Serviceman, Mr Charanjit Shikh, Founder & President of Indo American Medical Association, Mr Mustafa Ajmeri, Mr Venkat Meesala and many more patrons. Mr Ved Bhatia from Timestarz news and Ms Khyati Shah from Feelings magazine also graced the event.

Sruthi Chittoory said in a statement that “The event was a grand success with an overwhelming response from the Indians in and around Atlanta. Art contest for kids and Rangoli contest for women on Sankranti theme was conducted during the event to promote the Indian culture & traditions and encouraged youth to preserve traditions. This was all possible because of our amazing Sponsors Chef Dinesh Café, Flippin Pizzas, Indiaco, Farmers insurance by Gorav Gandhi & Pankaj Gandhi, Naturesoft LLC, Rangoli by Rekha and Tinytowne. We are so happy to see our leaders supporting and understanding importance of our culture.”

Beautiful decorations by Creative Bells Events, DJ by Ameet, Photography by Arvind Shukla and emceeing by Sravani Rachakulla. Highlights of the event include Kite flying and beautiful fashion show that showcased different cultures of states in India. Fashion show showcased the beautiful collection of Rangoli LLC by Rekha Jumani and choreographed by Neelima Sen, Graceful Kathak Tharana by Anurag Sharma and his Student of Kalashram, USA, Energetic Bhangra performance by Bollyz, and many more amazing performances by local dance schools. Patrons enjoyed great shopping and good food from over 30 vendor stalls.
