American Telugu Association (ATA) strongly condemns the homicide of Mr. Chandrasekhar Pole, a graduate student from Hyderabad in Dallas, Texas on Friday October 3rd 2025 by an unidentified gunman. Mr. Chandrasekhar Pole, 27, a dental surgery student pursuing his masters degree immigrated to United States as a student in 2023, with a lot of aspirations and his life was cut short due to the senseless act of gun violence.
ATA strongly condemns this dastardly act and requests the student community and every one to support the law enforcement with their investigation efforts to bring perpetrators to justice. ATA urges the student community to be very vigilant during these troubled times and refrain from any off campus activities.
ATA President Jayanth Challa and the board of trustees quoted that ‘It is very unfortunate that all communities irrespective of their ethnicity or race, are becoming victims of this senseless act of gun violence.’ ATA in a press release humbly requested lawmakers to put an end to gun violence and bring the necessary changes to curb these tragedies that are becoming increasingly common.
ATA expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of Chandrasekhar and pledges its support to the community. ATA Team with the help of Indian Consulate Generals office was able to respond in a timely manner to transport the mortal remains of Mr. Pole back to India.
