TAGDV celebrated Ugadi brimming the pride of Telugu culture in Delaware Valley

The Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley (TAGDV) joyously commemorated Ugadi on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at Upper Merion Area Middle School, 450 Keebler Rd, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, with an astounding turnout of nearly 1000 guests, marking a remarkable milestone in recent regional events in the Greater Philadelphia area.

The Ugadi festivities unfolded seamlessly, brimming with the pride of Telugu culture and heritage and it was meticulously planned and executed. TAGDV President Mujeebur Rehman graced the occasion with his address, welcoming esteemed guests including Neil Makhija, Montgomery County Commissioner, and Suresh Kagithapu, a generous benefactor and steadfast supporter.

The event also saw the presence of distinguished personalities such as past TAGDV presidents Sri Sudharkar Pavuluri garu, Sri Harnath Doddapaneni garu, Saroja Sagaram garu, Ravi Potluri garu, Mallik Budavarapu garu, Harinath Bungatavula garu, Kiran Kothapally garu, as well as NATS past chairman Sreedhar Appasani garu, TTA executives LN Donthireddy garu and Suresh Venkannagari garu, MATA team, PTA (Philadelphia) team, PTA (Pennsylvania), and TFAS president Madhu Rachakula garu.

The program commenced with a spiritually enriching Ugadi Panchanga Sravanam recitation by Sri Mallik Budavarapu garu, followed by captivating cultural performances by local talents of all ages. The unveiling of the 2024 Ugadi souvenir was a highlight, conducted by Neil Makhija and esteemed dignitaries present on stage.

The musical extravaganza, presented by the MLive band led by Chanti and featuring Tollywood sensations Karunya and Malavika, delighted the audience, filling the venue with infectious energy and enthusiasm. Subsequently, Sri Sagaram garu, the election committee chairman, along with committee members Satya Varma and Madhav Reddy Mosarla, announced the new executive committee for the term 2024-26.

Sri Tulasi Rammohan garu, President, and the executive committee expressed gratitude to the election committee for their dedication and contributions. In recognition of his exemplary service over the past two years and his pivotal role in celebrating TAGDV’s Golden Jubilee, Mujeebur Rehman, accompanied by his family Karuna and Sameer, was felicitated by the TAGDV executive committee.

Hareesh Annabathina extended heartfelt thanks to all donors, past presidents, business owners, and, notably, volunteers for their unwavering dedication to the organization. Special appreciation was extended to EMCEE Swetha Kommoji and Raghu Vemula for their invaluable contributions, and gratitude was expressed to Viswa Koganti garu for capturing the memorable moments of the event through photography.
