ATA Celebrates Talent & Culture with Successful Sayyandi Padam, Jhummandi Nadam & Beauty Pageant in Virginia

Leesburg, Virginia, June 6, 2026: The American Telugu Association (ATA) DMV successfully hosted the Sayyandi Padam, Jhummandi Nadam, and Beauty Pageant Competitions at Droumavalla Farms, Leesburg, Virginia, bringing together talented participants, community leaders, families, and supporters for a memorable day of culture, creativity, and celebration.

The event witnessed tremendous enthusiasm from the community, with more than 110 participants and over 400 guests attending throughout the day. The competitions provided a vibrant platform for participants to showcase their talents while celebrating Telugu culture and heritage.

The day began with Jhummandhi Nadam, ATA’s singing competition, which commenced at 10:00 AM. More than 30 talented singers participated, displaying their musical abilities and captivating the audience with outstanding performances. The competition concluded with the announcement of winners and awards ceremony at 2:00 PM.

Following the singing competition, Sayyandi Padam, ATA’s dance competition, began at 2:00 PM. More than 30 participants took the stage, presenting a variety of classical, folk, and contemporary performances. The event concluded with awards and recognition of winners at 5:30 PM.

The grand finale of the day was the Beauty Pageant Competition, which commenced at 7:00 PM. With more than 40 contestants participating, the pageant celebrated confidence, personality, leadership, cultural awareness, and stage presence. The evening culminated in an exciting crowning ceremony and announcement of winners at 11:00 PM.

The event was graced by ATA leadership, including ATA President Jayanth Challa, ATA Convention Convener Sreedhar Banala, Convention Coordinators Ravi Challa, Zeenath Kundoor, and Koushik Sama, Director Sudhir Damidi, along with several committee chairs, community leaders, sponsors, and distinguished guests.

Their presence and encouragement inspired participants and underscored ATA’s commitment to nurturing talent, preserving culture, and strengthening community engagement. ATA leadership commended the Beauty Pageant Chair, Sayyandi Padam Chair, Jhummandhi Nadam Chair, committee members, judges, volunteers, sponsors, and local coordinators for their tireless dedication and exceptional teamwork.

Their meticulous planning and execution ensured a seamless and memorable experience for all participants and attendees. The successful event generated tremendous excitement and momentum leading up to the 19th ATA Convention 2026, scheduled to take place in Baltimore, Maryland, from July 31 through August 2, 2026.
