Minneapolis, Minnesota: TANA Distributes Backpacks to Students at Bethune Arts Elementary School

Minneapolis, Minnesota: As part of its ongoing community service initiatives and in celebration of the organization stepping into its 50th year, the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) distributed school backpacks to approximately 150 students at Bethune Arts Elementary School in Minneapolis for the 2026–27 academic year.

Carrying forward its commitment to “Giving Back to the Community,” TANA’s North Central Chapter organized the backpack distribution program to support local students and families and help children begin the new school year with essential school supplies.

TANA North Central Representative Ram Vankina, along with TANA representatives Jayaram Nallamothu, Ashok Sunkavalli, Nag Bollu, RK Anne, Vedavyas Arvapalli, Ajai Talluri, and Chandra Chennupati, participated in the event and distributed backpacks to the students.

TANA representatives stated that the backpack initiative is being conducted as part of TANA’s broader commitment to serving communities across the United States. The program is being carried out under the leadership of TANA President Naren Kodali and Vice President Srinivas Lau, with TANA North Central representatives sponsoring the initiative locally.

The organizers expressed their special appreciation to TANA (Telugu Association of North America) Community Service Coordinator Sai Bollineni and Treasurer Raja Kasukurthi for their support and coordination in making the program possible.

School administrators and teachers at Bethune Arts Elementary School appreciated TANA’s continued commitment to community service and expressed their gratitude for selecting the school for the backpack distribution program again this year.

They thanked the local TANA leadership and volunteers for providing school backpacks to students and for their continued support of the community. The initiative reflects TANA’s long-standing tradition of giving back and supporting families and children through meaningful community service programs.
