TANA distributed backpacks to entire school in Detroit Michigan

It’s about the time for Telugu Association of North America TANA’s one of the signature programs ‘backpacks distribution’. Every year, TANA distributes backpacks to needy children during the initial weeks of the schools’ academic year in all major cities in the United States.

This popular service initiative has been successfully running for many years. As part of this giving back to the community program, TANA president Niranjan Srungavarapu along with donors Suresh Puttagunta, Vishnu V Jampala and Ram Prasad Chilukuri donated 553 backpacks to the entire school students of Gompers Elementary – Middle School in Detroit, Michigan.

The school principal and special guest Hon Congressman Shri Thanedar participated in the Dr. Navaneeta Krishna Gorrepati back pack program. The event was a joyous occasion for the students and numerous students thanked and hugged TANA members while collecting their backpacks.

TANA president Mr. Niranjan Srungavarapu thanked the school officials for letting TANA serve the students and US congressman Hon Thanedar for participating in this memorable event.
