It’s about the time for Telugu Association of North America TANA’s one of the signature programs ‘backpacks distribution’. Every year, TANA distributes backpacks to needy children during the initial weeks of the schools’ academic year in all major cities in the United States. This popular service initiative has been successfully running for many years.

As part of this giving back to the community program, TANA Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) area team has been organizing this program in Dallas area schools by distributing more than 500 backpacks so far. One such major program was conducted on August 14th at Fort Worth Independent School District in Dallas. In an event organized in the memory of TANA Past President, late Dr. Gorrepati Navaneetha Krishna, around 400 backpacks were distributed to the needy kids. Fort Worth Mayor, Mattie Parker, was the chief guest for this kid’s friendly event. Ms. Parker appreciated TANA for the kind gesture and thanked for much needed initiative at the perfect time of children getting back to school.

This event was sponsored by TANA Dallas Fort Worth team. The Regional Coordinator of TANA DFW area, Sateesh Kommana, coordinated this generous event along with the Board of Director Murali Vennam, Councilor at Large Lokesh Naidu, committee member Lenin Talluri and TANA DFW Team.
