Indianapolis: The Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA) Indianapolis chapter hosted a vibrant Bonalu & Alai-Balai celebration at Forest Park, Noblesville, IN, on July 20, 2025. Undeterred by persistent rain, the Telangana and Telugu communities came together for a spirited display of cultural unity, featuring lively drum performances, devotional music, and traditional rituals.
TTA Indianapolis families are always indebted to distinguished leaders TTA Founder Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy garu, Advisory Chair Dr. Vijayapal Reddy garu, Advisory team, and President Naveen Reddy Mallipeddi garu and sponsors. The event was led by TTA Executive Director & National Bonalu Advisor Kavitha Reddy, with enormous support from TTA Indianapolis.
RVP Ravinder Reddy Purumandla and Standing Committee Co-chairs Suveer Reddy Mallareddygaari and Sushanth Reddy Kallem. Attendees enjoyed a festive atmosphere enhanced by artistic decorations and an authentic Telangana feast prepared by dedicated volunteers like Harish Kanthala, Srinath Kodali, and Prabhakar Madishetty with support of many others.
Participants praised the cuisine, noting standouts such as the mutton dish and vegetarian specialties. Despite the weather, the community’s resilience shone through, as families gathered to receive Ammavaari’s blessings and share moments of joy and connection.
The celebration’s success was a testament to the tireless efforts of volunteers (Dhol Tasha, Himanth Reddy for Photography, Golden Lush for Decorations), with significant contributions from women’s decoration teams, logistics coordinators, and youth from the Sewa Organization.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of unity and pride, affirming Bonalu as a meaningful tradition and a celebration of heritage for the Telugu and Telangana communities in Indiana.
