108 Surya Namaskars on Mount Elbert, Colorado’s highest point – Praveen Maripelly

Praveen Maripelly performed 108 Surya Namaskars on Colorado’s highest point ‘Mount Elbert’ which is at 14,440 feet with 4 degrees Celsius. It is also the second-highest summit in the contiguous United States and it took him just 30 minutes. He has been teaching Yoga under Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS) platform as well. As part of his big project ‘108 Surya Namaskars on 108 Mountains’, he flew from Madison to Colorado to accomplish his 20th high altitude yoga on Colarado’s highest mountain Mount Elbert.

This journey started on 7th August, Saturday 2022 at 4:30 am and reached top of the mountain at 10:20 am central time. This trek is so steep and going through tree line and alpine desert. He started 108 Surya Namaskars Performance at 10:26 am and completed at 10:59 am central time.

It took 33 minutes to perform 108 Surya Namaskars. The temperature was approximately 4 Celsius and altitude is 14,440 feet. Up and down, total climbing distance is 16 kilometers and duration is 9 hours. This project is supported by Center for South Asian Studies in University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.
