Being one of the diversified cities in United States, Atlanta proved once again that unity and collaboration bring success from various walks of life. Atlantans witnessed and sensed this unity in felicitating Oscar award winner and Tollywood Lyricist Subhash Chandrabose Kanukuntla.

As people call him fondly Chandrabose in Tollywood, after winning Oscar award for Naatu Naatu song in RRR Telugu movie, he came directly from the star-studded Los Angeles, California to Atlanta and the organizers did not disappoint neither Chandrabose nor the crowd.

Though Atlanta has multiple national and local Telugu organizations along with other Indian ethnic and Indian American organizations, nothing stopped them from coming together to show their pride, unity and courage to uphold a man from the state of Telangana, India that hailed the Indian flag high across the world.

This event was scheduled for March 14th Tuesday evening when Chandrabose written Naatu Naatu was just an Oscar nominee. But later when Naatu Naatu got Oscar award, the event grew way big and had to change the venue as well.

Registrations had to close in no time despite the bigger venue and even after reopening the registrations. You can imagine the Atlanta crowd’s desire to participate in the event and meet the popular Tollywood lyricist Subhash Chandrabose Kanukuntla.

The event was kicked off at Forsyth Conference Center in the city of Cumming, Georgia around 6 pm by lightening the lamp in front of Lord Ganesha idol and with a warm welcome note by the MC Lavanya Guduru. Several cultural programs entertained the audience followed by few speakers.

Despite being a weekday, the venue was more than full and few attendees had to stand to get a glimpse of the program. Local elected officials including mayors, city council members, sheriff and Indian consulate general Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni graced the event and appreciated Chandrabose on a magnanimous success.

All the organizations and sponsors got an opportunity to meet, greet with flower bouquets and shawls, and take pictures with Chandrabose on stage. Also, to help build a library in Chandrabose’s native village, funds were raised by offering one on one pictures with Chandrabose.

Great job by the organizers Goutham Goli and Chand Akkineni, sponsors and all the organizations involved in pulling this great event together with great team work. Kudos to the down to earth personality and pride of India Chandrabose.
