Cumming, Georgia: GATeS & ATA Volleyball Tournament Brings Atlanta Telugu Community Together

The Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS), under the leadership of President Ramana Gandra, Chairwoman Jyothsna Palakurthy and team GATeS 2026 in joint collaboration with the American Telugu Association (ATA), has successfully conducted its highly anticipated annual Volleyball Tournament.

The prominent community sporting event commenced at 8:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, bringing together athletes, families, and sports enthusiasts from across the metro Atlanta region for a day of intense competition and community bonding.”We are incredibly proud of the immense talent, energy, and sportsmanship displayed at this year’s tournament,” said Ramana Gandra, President of GATeS.

“Events like these strengthen our community bonds, promote healthy living, and showcase the vibrant spirit of our Telugu youth. At this event inaugural key note given by Madhukar Reddy emphasized the collaborative efforts with esteemed organizations like the ATA allow us to build an even stronger, more connected platform for our community members.

“The action-packed tournament took place at the premier Central Park Indoor Courts, located at 2300 Keith Bridge Rd, Cumming, Georgia. Serving as a cornerstone of the organizations’ joint summer sports initiatives, the indoor event provided an excellent platform for local community members to showcase their athletic skills, teamwork, and passion for volleyball. A competitive lineup of 16 dynamic teams from across the region took to the courts to battle for the championship trophies.

Following hours of high-intensity rallies, strategic plays, and exceptional sportsmanship, the tournament concluded with the final podium placements across two highly competitive divisions: Division 1 Standings: Champions: Hitmen (Led by Captain Karthik Gummadi) Runner-Up: FVC Aces (Led by Captain Koti) Third Place: Atlanta Spikers (Led by Captain Jacob Theempalangad) Division 2 Standings: Champions: Block Party (Led by Captain Rinhard Johnson) Runner-Up: EIC (Led by Captain Bikash)

At the conclusion of the event, community leaders Karunakar Asireddy, Sridhar Tirupati, Sriram Srinivas, and Anil Boddireddy officially presented the championship and runner-up trophies to the winning teams, celebrating their outstanding athletic performance and strategic gameplay.The seamless execution of this year’s athletic meet was driven by the dedicated leadership of GATeS President Ramana Gandra, Chairman Jyothsna Palakurthy alongside key event organizers, including Madhukar Reddy, Kiran Tadakamalla, and Chandrashekar Althati, Sharat Gandra, Vijay Vinjamara, Krithidhar Goud.
