Women from several languages enthralled audience @ Deepotsav in Atlanta

The ninth annual Deepotsav event was held on December 9th 2023 at Sexton Hall in Cumming, Georgia. The 6 hour event started at 5 pm and was full of fun, food, games and performances that rocked the stage. Singers and dancers enthralled everyone in several languages.

The skit “Suwanee ke Sholay” evoked peals of laughter from the audience. The women’s empowerment segment focused on women’s financial independence and also consisted of a session about the need for immigrants to have a Will done.

This All-women program included women photographers, women AV system support, and women decorators. Prizes and awards were distributed to participants and winners that included 11 most active participants and 8 performance coordinators .

Ms Pallavi Satish was awarded the outstanding performer award for her contribution in several segments of the event. Event Director Deepa Nallur mentioned that the event was a way to provide fun and relaxation to busy women, and an opportunity to exhibit their talents.

A few visiting elderly mothers from India also graced the occasion this year she said. Organizing committee member Ms. Anusha Viswanathan mentioned that this is one of a kind event and people are enthusiastic about the opportunities it presents.

Deepotsav event started in 2013 as a neighborhood event and has constantly been growing in popularity. More and more women have found it a good avenue to exhibit their talents as it is a women only event and they can venture to come out of their comfort zone.
