Acknowledging the truth that cricket is the most authentic game that people love to watch or play irrespective of age, gender, religion or region, Greater Atlanta Telugu Association (GATA) has been organizing cricket tournaments in Greater Atlanta area for past 9 years. This year, despite the pandemic, GATA has organized ‘RAPID IT’ sponsored Day & Night Cricket Tournament at the Sharon Springs Park. 40 teams had participated and played for 5 days in 2 weekends making it a grand success.

All 40 teams played challenging games, but LEGENDS and EAGLES exhibited their best performance and remained as finalists of the tournament. While the weather was trying to make a sticky wicket and players on the other side were sticking to their sportive spirit, the final match went on and on even in a heavy rain when the umpires took a call and declared both teams were the winning teams. Though cricket is one of the game of inches, finals reflected the words- ‘apart we play and united we win’. The night was filled with the glitters of happiness and the grounds were full of echoes of healthy claps.

Trophy presentation moment was the most flourishing moment when Chief Coordinator of GATA Sai Gorrepati, GATA BOD Chairman Satyanarayana Tangirala, sponsor Goutham Goli of RAPD IT addressed and applauded both teams and their winning spirit. All this is possible with all the gracious support by GATA team members Jaya Chandra, Siddarth Abbagari, Madhavi Dasyam, Swapna Kaswa, Srilatha Chekkilla, Lakshmi Sanikommu, Vasavi Karnati, Srilatha, Naveen Marri, Niranjan Podduturi, Subba Reddy, Srini Shanigarapu, Kishan Devunoori, Girish Meka, Satya Karnati and volunteers Ramu Parupalli, Raj Kasireddy, Sanjeev, Sanjay, Sirish, Venu Pisike, Sekhar Palla, Preetham Kommula.
