A Day of Fun, Friendship, and Telugu Pride at the Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley Picnic

Oaks, Pennsylvania, July 26, 2026:The Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley (TAGDV) hosted its annual Summer Picnic 2026 at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park, Pavilion #1 &2, bringing together Telugu families from Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey for a vibrant day of food, games, and cultural fellowship. As TAGDV proudly marks 53 years of service, the picnic once again highlighted the organization’s enduring commitment to Telugu identity, unity, and community engagement.

A Morning of Dedicated Volunteer Service
Volunteer teams began arriving as early as 6:30 a.m., initiating large scale cooking operations that continued for several hours. Their efforts resulted in a freshly prepared, full course menu that was served to over 550 attendees throughout the afternoon. TAGDV expressed special appreciation to the Annapurnas: community members who cooked fresh dishes at home, contributed to the potluck, adding a homely touch to the event and showcasing the culinary diversity of the Telugu community.

Program Highlights -Food, Fun, and Festive Spirit
Families began arriving at 11:30 a.m., filling the park with cheerful conversations and the warmth of Telugu camaraderie. The picnic delivered on its promise of “Delicious Food, Exciting Games, Lots of Fun”, offering:
• A full hot lunch prepared on site
• Fresh snacks and beverages
• Evening snacks featuring freshly cut watermelon, which became a super duper hit among children and adults alike
• Outdoor games and friendly sports competitions
• Prizes awarded to winners across multiple categories

These elements came together to create a memorable afternoon filled with joy, unity, and Telugu cultural pride. One attendee captured the sentiment perfectly: “మన తెలుగు వాళ్లతో గడిపిన ఈ పిక్నిక్ – మనసుకు హాయిగా, ఇంటి వాతావరణం గుర్తు చేసింది.” (“This picnic with our Telugu community brought a soothing, homelike feeling.”)

The picnic was further enriched by the presence of leaders from various Telugu associations across the region, reflecting unity and mutual respect among Telugu organizations. Their participation added prestige to the event and strengthened inter association collaboration.

In addition, past TAGDV presidents — Harinath Doddapaneni, Ravi Potluri, Hari Bungathavula, and Mujebur Rehaman Shaik — graced the occasion with their presence, offering encouragement and reinforcing the spirit of Telugu unity in the Greater Delaware Valley. As one senior leader remarked, “తెలుగు సంఘాలు కలిసి నడిస్తే – మన సంస్కృతి మరింత బలపడుతుంది.” (“When Telugu associations walk together, our culture grows stronger.”)
