Raleigh, North Carolina: The NRI Vasavi Association ( NRIVA ) Raleigh NC Seva Team came together at RMHC Durham for a heartfelt Cook and Serve the Needy initiative, demonstrating true compassion and community spirit. This seva event was beautifully organized with the intention of supporting families in need, and it reflected NRIVA’s strong commitment to giving back to society.

Under the inspiring leadership of Cook Team Lead Sreedhar Katkam, the volunteers worked with dedication and unity to prepare nourishing meals with love and care. A special appreciation goes to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make this event meaningful and successful: Sreelatha Katkam, Aadhya Katkam, RamaRao Kothamasu, Bhoomesh, Siva Bonagiri, Anil Kumar Kotha, Badari Kommuru, and Satish.

Their teamwork and enthusiasm helped ensure that the meals were prepared, boxed, and made ready efficiently. Within just two hours, the team created warm, nutritious meals for 60 individuals, ensuring everything was packed and delivered in time for dinner. Their collective effort truly reflected the spirit of service.

Beyond the immediate impact of serving meals, this initiative helped strengthen bonds within the volunteer community as participants worked side by side, sharing responsibilities with enthusiasm. Many volunteers expressed that the experience offered not only a chance to serve but also an opportunity to reflect on gratitude and empathy.

The environment at RMHC Durham created a space where families supporting sick children could feel cared for, and the Seva Team was deeply humbled to contribute even in a small way toward easing their difficult journey. Looking ahead, the NRIVA Raleigh North Carolina Seva Team hopes to expand these efforts by engaging more families, youth volunteers, and new chapter members in upcoming seva activities.

The team is exploring additional service opportunities. The long‑term vision is to make seva a continuous part of community life—encouraging every individual to participate, share, and uplift those in need. With growing volunteer participation and community support, the chapter is confident that its service footprint will grow stronger in the months ahead.

We also extend sincere gratitude to the NRIVA Raleigh Chapter Leads — Nandu Konduri, Leela Prasad Madaali, and Sandeep Proddaturi — for their continuous encouragement, coordination, and vision. Their guidance plays a vital role in enabling the chapter to carry out such impactful service activities.

The Seva Team has expressed a strong desire to continue hosting these community service events once every three months, ensuring that support to the needy remains ongoing and consistent. NRIVA has always been at the forefront of serving communities wherever possible, and this event once again showcased that commitment.

The team welcomes and encourages generous donors who wish to sponsor or organize similar cooking events—especially in honor of birthdays, anniversaries, or special family occasions. Together, with continued support and compassion, NRIVA Raleigh NC Seva Team aims to keep expanding its reach and spreading positivity through meaningful acts of service.
