American Telugu Association (ATA) Team attended India’s Republic Day celebrations hosted by the National Council of Asian Indian Associations in Manassas, Virginia. Representatives from Senator Mark Warner’s office, Congressman Suhas Subramanyam’s office, State Senator Khannan’s office, and Delegate JJ Singh were present.
The Chief Guest was Ambassador Namga Khampa, DCM & Charge d’Affaires. ATA President Jayanth Challa was introduced by community leader Babu Rao and spoke about ATA as one of the oldest national Telugu organizations serving the 1.5M Telugu community and the wider community.
Mr. Challa explained the various activities the organization performs. He invited everyone to the 19th ATA Conference, July 31–Aug 2, at the Baltimore Convention Center. The ATA delegation presented an invitation letter to Ambassador Khampa, and she responded positively.
