TTA New Jersey Chapter celebrated Mother’s Day setting a benchmark for community engagement in Parsippany

Parsippany, New Jersey, May 11, 2025: The Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA), New Jersey chapter, hosted a grand and heartwarming Mother’s Day celebration at the Parsippany Police Athletic League (PAL), drawing an enthusiastic crowd of over 400 attendees. This event marked the first major Telugu community celebration in Northern New Jersey organized at this scale, with registrations closing in under 24 hours—a testament to the strong support and spirit of the local Telugu community.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Parsippany Mayor James R. Barberio, Councilman Frank Neglia, and Mayor Liaison Jigar Shah. The celebration also welcomed TTA President Naveen Reddy Mallipeddi, who traveled from Charlotte to join the festivities, and Guest of Honor Dr. Sunitha Polepalle who shared a moving message about her charitable work through the Help Foundation.

TTA New Jersey team expressed their deepest gratitude to TTA Founder Pailla Malla Reddy garu for providing the platform to volunteer and to our esteemed leaders: Advisory Council (AC) Chair Vijayapal Reddy Garu, Co-Chair Mohan Reddy Patalolla garu, and AC members Bharath Reddy Madadi garu, Srini Anugu garu for their continued support and guidance.

The event began with the traditional lamp lighting and a moment of silence in remembrance of victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The cultural extravaganza kicked off with a soulful prayer song performed by popular Telugu playback singer Spoorthi Jithender. The musical celebration continued with mesmerizing performances by renowned singers Kumar Rani and Lalitha Rani, who captivated the audience with Telugu hit songs and special Mother’s Daythemed melodies.

Adding to the musical delight, young and talented junior singers Tarika and Kritika entertained with their renditions of popular Telugu hits. New Jersey’s talented dancing star Tarika and her group from TARA Dance Academy delivered a spellbinding dance performance to a medley of Telugu songs, enthralling the audience.

TTA President Naveen Reddy Mallipeddi’s rousing welcome address outlined TTA’s vision and upcoming initiatives across the U.S. and India, requested everyone to join the TTA mission to serve the community. President interacted with all the attendees at the event and wished everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. TTA General Secretary Shiva Reddy Kolla spoke about membership benefits, encouraged community participation and highlighted TTA’s ongoing work in New Jersey.

Shiva Reddy Kolla also expressed his gratitude to President Naveen Mallipeddi garu on behalf of TTA New Jersey team for attending the event. TTA International Vice President Narsimha Peruka, who played a key role in organizing the event, introduced the TTA New Jersey team and acknowledged their collective efforts. Event Emcee Swetha Kommoji kept the audience engaged throughout the program with her dynamic stage presence.

Chief Guest, Mayor James R. Barberio delivered an inspiring speech, applauding the organizers for hosting such a meaningful event in Parsippany, Mayor wished all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. TTA President Naveen Mallipeddi and TTA New Jersey Team felicitated Mayor and his team during the event. Further adding to the evening’s charm, a vibrant fashion show showcased over 50 moms and their children, brilliantly choreographed by Tarika.

A special moms’ dance performance featured four talented mothers, earning resounding applause from the audience. Interactive elements brought families together, including the popular “Know Your Mother” Game Show, led by Deepa Madangopal and Sudhaker Uppala, with over 40 mom-child pairs participating. President Naveen Mallipeddi felicitated all the Guests, Sponsors, Performers and thanked everyone for attending the event.

Maaya Fine Jewels sponsored Diamond pendant for Best Dressed Mom and Gold coins for Fashion show winners. Event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, prize distribution, and a vote of thanks delivered by Sudhaker Uppala. TTA New Jersey Team thanks and appreciates Narsimha Donthireddy, BOD and Kiran Guduru for coming all the way from Philadelphia to attend the event.
