Sri NexusAtlanta, Georgia, March 30, 2025: The Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS) successfully hosted the Cricket Carnival 2025 at Rock Creek Park, Dawsonville, a thrilling one-day cricket extravaganza in memory of its beloved founder, G.S. Reddy Garu. with over 250 attendees, including 160 players, volunteers, and families, the event was a remarkable success.
The day was filled with intense matches, team spirit, and festive celebrations, creating an unforgettable experience for all those involved. The tournament began at 8 AM local time with a heartfelt tribute to GS Reddy Garu, honoring his vision and contributions to the community.
This emotional moment set the tone for a day of spirited cricket, where players competed not just for trophies but also to celebrate the legacy of a leader who brought the community together through initiatives like GATeS. The uniqueness of GATeS Cricket Carnival 2025 lay in its one-day completion, a first-of-its-kind achievement for a tournament of this scale.
With an astonishing 32 matches played in a single day, the event demonstrated seamless planning and execution by the GATeS Team and volunteers. Players described the event as a mini-IPL, where the excitement, energy, and passion for the game were evident from start to finish.
Teams played their hearts out, competing fiercely while enjoying the vibrant, festival-like atmosphere. The spirit of cricket was truly alive, with cheers, thrilling moments, and unforgettable performances on display. GATeS went the extra mile to take care of all participants.
In a first-ever initiative, players were provided with coffee, bananas, and water to keep them energized throughout the day. Additionally, a food truck was present at the venue, ensuring that everyone had access to delicious food for lunch and snacks, adding to the festival-like experience.
The action-packed tournament continued throughout the day, with all 16 teams actively engaged in matches from morning till night. The final match concluded in the evening, and the grand awards ceremony took place at 8 PM, where winners and standout performers were recognized for their incredible efforts.
Papa’s Willow emerged as the tournament winners, with Thunderbolts Bluescape LLC securing the runner-up position, and Atlanta Tuskers claiming third place. Players and attendees unanimously appreciated the incredible efforts of the GATeS team, acknowledging their dedication in organizing such a massive, high-energy event fabulous execution.
The event wasn’t just about cricket—it was a celebration of unity, sportsmanship, and community spirit. “With Cricket Carnival 2025, GATeS has truly set a new benchmark for sports events, showcasing how passion, teamwork, and meticulous planning can bring even large-scale tournaments to life in just a single day.
