‘Giving back to the community’ is a common phrase frequently used by community service leaders. But it takes a whole lot to put it in practice and that too consistently year by year. One such organization that takes this phrase into reality from time to time is Telugu Association of North America (TANA). In continuation of their efforts for their signature program, backpack distribution in US schools is expanding every year.
One such example is now witnessed by TANA Mid-Atlantic area people on December 14th. TANA Mid-Atlantic team have distributed 150 plus backpacks at John Bartram High School in Philadelphia. Brian Johnson, Principal, and Jeremy Cooper, Assistant Principal, thanked TANA for the love and support, and appreciated for choosing their school for this noble program.
Sunil Koganti, Regional Coordinator of TANA Mid-Atlantic, along with Ravi Potluri and Satish Tummala coordinated this event. Sunil thanked Jagadish Anumula, Kiran Krothapalli and Gopi Vagvala for attending the event. Sunil also thanked Raja Kasukurthi, Community Services Coordinator, Paramesh Devineni, Backpack Program Chair, and TANA Philadelphia team for the wonderful support as always.
TANA Mid-Atlantic team is looking forward to organizing similar activities in future with support from TANA leadership and president Mr. Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu. TANA Mid-Atlantic team conveyed special thanks to Rajitha Maley for coordinating this backpack donation program with school management.
