We are all aware that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is conducting raids and citing notices to appear in court. Unlawfully present foreign nationals and people working without work permits are being monitored, caught and receiving citations.

Few instances of those are from the cities of Smyrna and Marietta in Georgia based on local ordinance. Among many that came to NRI2NRI.COM notice, potential students working without work permit were caught on the evening of December 11 and 12, 2024.

Apparently, one of them was staying in Smyrna and working in a BP gas station in Marietta, Georgia. They were issued citations quoting violation of code section 6-207(A) as per local ordinance and are ordered to appear in magistrate court in Mariette on January 23, 2025.

Sources say, they may potentially face a deportation. President Elect Trump has promised mass deportations of illegal immigrants. He’s worried about criminals and drugs coming into the United States. While the inauguration is around the corner, NRI2NRI.COM wants to brings awareness, urges students to follow the law of land and adhere strictly.
