Visitor visa holders sent back to India from US port of entry for not having return flight tickets

Indian parents were not allowed to enter the United States at Newark international airport. This happened because the couple did not have return flight tickets. The couple had come on visitor visa and planned to stay for five months with the kids family, according to Hindustan Times. But when they arrived, immigration officials told them that a return ticket was required.

Despite the parents’ requests and explanations, they were allegedly sent back to India directly from the airport. Many Indian travelers are now confused because the US immigration authorities have not officially announced anything new. This event has caused concern among Indian people living abroad and those who plan to visit the US.

However, this immigration rule was there for years but not implemented strictly, it seems. President Trump is known for having strict immigration policies. It seems like the Immigration officers at the border are now implementing it strictly. So, it is now very important to make sure all the paperwork is in order, including return tickets and proof of travel plans.
