ATA hosted Women’s Day & Ugadi @ San Diego, California

American Telugu Association (ATA) has hosted international women’s day and Ugadi on Saturday April 8th in the city of San Diego, California. The program was kicked off by the 3 pillars of ATA San Diego team i.e Regional Chair Maheshwari Kuruva, Regional Coordinator Ram Mohan Rao Karne, and Regional Director Kashappa Madaram.

They have lighted lamps followed by a warm welcome note with a devotional song and a Bharatanatyam dance. Women honorable guests were invited to represent 7 wonders of the world (women of power) and they have delivered powerful messages to women in general.

Dr. Lakshmi Thirunagari, MD Pediatrics.
Dr. Priya Karmali, CTO at Capstan Therapeutics.
Sireesha Avadhanam, Classical Dancer/Coach.
Anamika Rajpurohit, SBI Manager, San Diego.

Many fun games and dance performances entertained the crowd throughout the event. Each activity was accompanied by prizes and ATA certificates to acknowledge the effort put in by the participants. Many were seen taking pictures at the special photo booth.

The event was attended by over 200 guests and was planned from 12 pm to 4 pm but it got extended by an hour as the audience were so much involved in all the fun games and dances. Lastly, we had a cake cutting and ended with a vote of thanks by Kashappa Madaram.
