Taxes explained in common man’s language: TAMA Webinar

Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta ‘TAMA’ in collaboration with ‘My Tax Filer’ organized a webinar on Tax Filing and Financial Planning, an online zoom event on Saturday, February 19th, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Around 100 participants attended this useful and informative seminar.

The event commenced with an opening note from Suresh Bandaru, TAMA General Secretary. He conveyed special appreciation to Hari Prasad Salian, founder of My Tax Filer, for his sponsorship towards the event. Suresh has invited the Ravi Kalli, TAMA President, to address the gathering. Ravi welcomed the audience and spoke about various services that TAMA offers to the community and praised the commitment & dedication of Hari Prasad Salian to the TAMA community for his continued support.

This online interactive discussion included taxes and related laws changes in 2022, tax timelines and various possible tax deductions. Some other salient features covered are, Federal and State Return, Investments , Rental Property Return, Self-employed and Sole Proprietorship Return, FBAR, FATCA, Business Tax & Services, S-Corp and C-Corp Returns, Bookkeeping, Payroll and Audit, Foreign Compliance Requirements and reducing taxes on capital gain income etc.

Simple tax saving tips and FAQs are the highlights of the day, which are well received by the audience. He also elucidated certain intricacies related to Tax Credits, Tax Rate Table, and exemptions. How taxes work for visiting parents, kids, legal residents including Citizens, Green Card, Visa holders and students are some of the points of interest for attendees. Everyone is appreciative of the fine details provided by Hari Prasad very clearly in common man’s language and were talking about the benefits and savings they could avail. Several participants have asked general questions that will benefit everyone. Even after the presentation, many questions were clarified patiently.

Sreeram Royyala, TAMA Chairman, thanked Hari Prasad Salian for his services and presenting the need of the hour webinar and appreciated TAMA Board and Executive Committee members for their contributions. Many of the attendees conveyed their gratitude to TAMA for it’s services to the community.
