The first national Telangana organizationTTA (Telangana American Telugu Association) celebrated International Women’s Day on March 18th 2023. The event was a huge success. The event began with opening remarks by the current President Mr. Vamshi Reddy.Hehighlighted the contributions of women in this world and especially in the TTA organization. He encouraged women to play more pivotal roles in community service by leading and setting an example for others to follow.
Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA) founder Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy, AC Chair Dr. Haranath Policherla, AC Co-chair Dr. Mohan Patlolla and AC Dr. Vijaypal Reddy have wished women within the organization and outside and appreciated their contributions to the community.
Following the opening remarks, Apollo Hospitals Joint MD Dr. Sangita Reddy discussed the vital role played by women in healthcare and the steps the organization is taking to support them. She also highlighted the need for more women to pursue careers in the field of healthcare and the importance of addressing gender disparities in the industry. TTA awarded Dr. Sangita Reddy with “TTA-Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” for all her services.
After that, Honorable Governor Of Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundarajan, Chief Guest spoke about the importance of empowering women and creating equal opportunities for them. She also highlighted the significant contributions made by women in various fields, including healthcare.
She lauded the efforts of TTA in women’s empowerment and encouraged more women leaders to take action for the betterment of the community. TTA recognizes the exemplary work done by Dr. Tamilisai Sondarajan by presenting the “TTA-Chief Guest of Honor” memento for the TTA International Women’sDay 2023.
TTA women’s day event was organized by TTA Women leaders Swathi Chennuri (Women Committee Advisor), Sangeeta Reddy (BOD), Kavitha Reddy (General Secretary), Usha Reddy (BOD), Rama Vanama (BOD), Priyanka (TTA Seattle) and many other women leaders in the organization.TTA thanked Lavanya Guduru (Anchor) for emceeing the event and making it lively and fun for everyone. President elect Mr. Naveen Mallipeddi and all EC members and BODs conveyed women’s day wishes.
The event also featured one of a kind Virtual “TTA Maharani” (a beauty pageant contest, in which usually women are judged based on their sense of confidence, presence, walk, posture, attire, and attractiveness), where a lot of women sent their nominations and the jury panel led by Chaitanya Poloju, Anusha Vangara went through those nominations to select the winners Ramya Ayyanki (Winner), Neelima Boddu (1st Runner-up), Sowmya Pandiri (2nd Runner-up).
The event is coordinated by Jyotsna Palakurthy and Deepthi Yeluguri and received an amazing response from Telangana community women. TTA congratulated all the winners and thanked the coordinators and jury panel for their excellent execution of first of the kind TTA Maharani event.
Overall, the Women’s Day event was a great success with performances like signing and dance from various artists across the world, and we hope that it has contributed to raising awareness about the importance of gender equality and empowering women.TTA thanked the leadership and all the participants for their contribution and support, and wished to look forward to continuing the efforts towards creating a more inclusive society.
