Telugu Association of North America (TANA) Backpack program has become an annual occurrence in various cities in the United States. It was initiated as part of giving back to the community initiative. Following in this path TANA Atlanta Team reached out to support students at Ison Springs Elementary School in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
TANA Southeast Regional Coordinator Venkat Meesala coordinated the program with Fulton County Public School system to arrange this event with support from sponsor Chandra Polaku of ShvinTech, Inc. Venkat conveyed heartfelt thanks to President Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu, Board of Director Srinivas Lavu, Joint Treasurer Bharath Maddineni, International Coordinator Hitesh Vadlamudi, Foundation Trustees Kiran Gogineni & Vinay Maddineni, Anil Yalamanchili and volunteers Balanarayana Madda, Pavan Devalapalli, Bharat Avirneni, Murali Boddu for the Support.
On this occasion, TANA President Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu talked about various charitable activities. TANA being one of the largest and oldest ethnic organization outside of India, it was our responsibility to help out the community in any way we can. He talked how immeasurable and contended it is to look at the happiness in the eyes of the kids. He also encouraged everyone to become involved in the community and do their part to make this a better world.
