In an earnest endeavor to extend community service not only within the USA but also to their motherland, the Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA) Advisory Council and Executive Team, led by Dr. Haranath Policherla (TTA Advisory Council Chair), launched the “TTA Seva Days” initiative in Hyderabad, India.
The inaugural event, titled “Sweaters Distribution Event,” took place at Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School, MPUPS Kapra (H.W), Gandhinagar, Kapra Mandal, Telangana State, on Friday, December 23rd, 2023. Dr. Haranath Policherla and the TTA team, along with board members and numerous NRIs, generously distributed sweaters to over 250 students spanning from 1st to 7th grades.
The school principal, Shri. Ram Reddy, teachers, local leaders, and the community lauded TTA’s commendable efforts. Proposals for enhancing school infrastructure, including the construction of toilets, were presented to Dr. Haranath Policherla TTA Advisory Council Chair, and Srinivasa Manapragada, TTA Advisory Council Member, and other participating NRIs.
Addressing the students, Dr. Haranath Policherla emphasized the importance of maintaining good health and encouraged them to pursue their goals. The TTA NRIs team engaged in meaningful interactions with the students. Srinivasa Manapragada expressed gratitude to the school and pledged continued support, announcing TTA’s adoption of the school for future needs.
Several NRIs offered their services to contribute to the school’s infrastructure, joining hands with Atomic Energy Central School Alumni students such as Ram Prasad Sheerla, Adabala Venkat, Dilip Nair, Jampana Venkatapathi Raju, Arup Roy, Venkat Dadi, Ram Chandran, Srikanth, and Navin Narayan.
Shri. Ram Reddy, the Principal of Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School, along with teachers Smt. M. Anjamma, Smt. K Mary Lavanya, Smt. K. V. Pushpalatha, Smt. Venkata Lakshmi, Shri. T. Venu Madhav, Smt. P. Niraja, Smt. K.Swathi, and Shri. D.Ramu, were felicitated during the event’s vote of thanks.
The TTA team, comprising the Advisory Council, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors, is committed to its mission. Dr. Haranath Policherla leads the Advisory Council alongside Srinivasa Manapragada, Venkat Aekka, Prasad Vuppalapu, and Vijay Seri.
The Executive Committee includes Kiran Basani as President, Saraswathi Varakur as General Secretary, and Subratha Gaddam as Treasurer. The Board of Directors comprises Sunil Marri, Anjan Karnati, Ravikumar Nethi, Nandadevi Srirama, Easwari Pachunoori (Jyothi), Lava Kumar, Vinay Kumar Varma, and Manohar Gaddam.
Together, they continue their dedicated service to the community and pledge to undertake further initiatives in the future.
