Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas: Oath ceremony by 2022 committee

Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas ‘TPAD’, a prestigious community organization in the state of Texas, with blessings from the Telugu community of Dallas Fort Worth area and nationally is recognized by the government of Telangana for hosting the biggest Bathukamma outside the state of Telangana, India.

On 12th of February 2022, in the presence of the local community leaders and supporters, TPAD conducted the oath taking ceremony of its newly elected members and office bearers for the year 2022 at Shubham Banquet Hall, Frisco, TX. The event started off with a prayer of lord Ganesha. All the members of TPAD lit lamps and offered flowers to Lord Ganesha. Sindhura Vemula and Sahithi Vemula sung invocation song before staring the oath talking ceremony. The TPAD team then sung national anthems of USA and India.

Roopa Kannayyagari and Anuradha Mekala conducted the event making sure the event went on according to the plan. They have recounted the history of TPAD and the recent proclamations by the City of Coppell and the City of Frisco, in recognition of serving the local communities during the pandemic COVID-19. Local singing talent Snigdha Eleshwarapu and Sravan Kumar entertained the audience with their melodious songs. Outgoing office bearers and senior members of TPAD were found to administer oath to newly elected members.

As the event progressed, they have taken a pause and maintained silence for 2 minutes and paid respects to the legendary singer and recipient of prestigious awards, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and the Dada Saheb Phalke Awards, Late. Latha Mangeshkar. Venu Bhagyanagar, Board member of Frisco Parks & Recreations and TPAD advisor said, the secret behind the success of TPAD lies in the strength of woman leadership and he commended TPAD for encouraging women.

Naresh Sunkireddy, Karan Poreddy, Chandra Police and Satish Nagilla congratulated the newly elected team and offered their continued support to TPAD. Speaking on the occasion of taking Oath, BOT Chair Indrani Pancharupula, President Ramana Lashkar, Coordinator Panduranga Reddy Palwai, Secretary Lakshmi Poreddy, Vice President Madhavi Lokireddy said, the newly elected team is optimistic about the world getting out of the pandemic and eyeing on doing bigger things in the year ahead. They said, they have plans to continue to do charity activities like Blood Donation, Food Donation and celebrate Bathukamma/Dasara Celebration in a much bigger way than the one we have seen in pre pandemic years.

Foundation Committee Chair, Ajay Reddy and Vice Chair Janaki Ram Mandadi, Rao Kalvala and Raghuveer Bandaru said that the mission of TPAD is to conduct events celebrating the culture of Telangana and pass on the traditional and cultural values of Telangana to the next generation and enrich the cultural fabric of the country that we are living in. They said they have selected the team that is capable of leading and carrying out the mission of TPAD. Having installed the new team, TPAD felicitated Sridhar Reddy Korsapati, a resident of Dallas and a prominent community leader who held multiple leadership positions in Dallas (President of TANTEX and IANT) and who has taken over as the president of North American Telugu Association ‘NATA’.
