It is worth while to recollect one of the inspirational quotes by Mother Teresa“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one“. With such a great inspiration, Telugu Association of North America ‘TANA’ organized a food drive on December 5th, 2021. TANA capital area team led by its regional coordinator Srinivas Vuyyuru organized the food drive in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area, also known as the Washington metropolitan area.

Selective items like rice, chana, onions, beans, water bottles etc. were solicited from the community and volunteers cooked fresh homemade vegetarian meals. 500 meals were prepared and served to shelter homes in the national capital region. Volunteers, especially youth volunteers, worked hard to make this food drive a huge success. Organizers said “this is just a beginning, we move forward and organize many food drives across the DMV area in future”.
