TANA 2023-25 Leadership Appointed; No Elections

Everyone knew that Telugu Association of North America (TANA) elections have been cancelled after close to 6 months of campaign, court cases, uncertainty and what not. Meanwhile 23rd convention came in and completed successfully.

Exactly the day after the convention, TANA Board of Directors called for a special meeting and appointed the 2023-25 leadership filling in all the vacancies. You can see the below official message issued today afternoon by TANA.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Members:

The TANA organizational elections scheduled for March/ April of 2023 were cancelled as a court ordered injunction on the finalization of Voters List was in place until June 2, 2023. The Board of Directors (BOD) of TANA determined that the elections could not be completed by July 9 when the terms for most of the office bearers were expiring. The BOD carefully considered the possibility of conducting the elections at a later date, but determined that it was not in the best interests of the organization to do so. As a result, several of the positions became vacant on July 10.

At a Special Meeting of the BOD held on July 10, 2023, convened for the purpose of filling the vacancies in the Board of Directors, TANA Foundation and the Executive Committee, in accordance with the TANA Bylaws, the BOD appointed the following to fill the vacancies:
