Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized a webinar on fitness centric wholistic development over three sessions concluding on October 23rd, 2021. TANA members and health enthusiasts attended the three-part series to help improve overall well-being and fitness. Event organizers Sunil Koganti, Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator, and Raja Kasukurthi, Community Services Coordinator thanked the attendees along with Suresh Peela and Phani Kantheti for coordinating the event.
The team is appreciative of TANA President and the entire TANA Leadership for their extended support and help in making this event a success. TANA President Lavu Anjaiah Chowdary stressed the need to continue such programs as well as initiate events geared more towards wellness and fitness awareness. Anjaiah Chowdary thanked the certified fitness trainer and nutritionist Alex for coming forward to share and educate the Telugu community.
The first session covered beginner exercises and simple workouts for Weight loss and Muscle Strengthening. Alex explained how successful application of exercise can help lower chances of developing Heart Disease, Diabetes, Arthritis, and Mental Health Issues. The second session briefly covered the root nutritional causes for many of the common ailments that trouble the community and how practical modifications of many traditional Indian foods can easily be modified with ingredients for fitness benefits. The last session helped bringing awareness to many of the ill health, stress, and posture effects that current mobile technology and social media use have caused. Solutions discussed included practical implementation of correct posture, office ergonomics, technology use control, and the importance of regular breaks in maintaining proper life rhythm and harmony.
