The Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA) in Houston orchestrated a splendid prelude to the eagerly awaited Mega Convention set to occur in Seattle on May 24, 25, and 26. This preliminary meeting and fundraiser were held at the Paradise Biryani N Grill Event Center in Houston on Saturday, the 9th, marking a significant milestone towards the grand event.
With an impressive attendance of nearly 250 community members, the event was graced by TTA President Vamshi Reddy Kancharakuntla, Board of Directors’ Durga Prasad Seloj (DP) and Jyothi Pakeru, alongside Regional Vice Presidents Hari Gampa, Srinivas Cheraku and Coordinators Uma Reddy, Arun Kumar, Ramky, Rajesh Gugilla, Laxman, Bharath, and Srinivas Mettu, who collectively played pivotal roles in the event’s success.
The Board of Director Durga Prasad Seloj shared insights into various development projects initiated during the Seva Days in India last December, through a detailed Power Point presentation, enlightening the members about TTA’s commitment to community service and development.
President Vamshi Reddy Kancharakuntla provided an overview of the upcoming convention, highlighting the participation of over ten thousand individuals including artists, entrepreneurs, and political figures from India, as well as local political, cultural, and arts communities.
The event commenced with traditional lamp lighting and prayers, setting a culturally rich tone for the evening, which also featured a fundraising program aimed at supporting the Mega Convention. The fundraiser was a triumph, with donations surpassing the $150,000 mark, showcasing the community’s generous spirit and commitment to the cause.
