TANA & TAMA: Free COVID Vaccination Drive

November 13, 2021: Telugu Association of North America (TANA) Atlanta chapter in association with the local Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) team organized a COVID-19 vaccine drive for kids and booster shots for adults. This need of the hour vaccination drive is supported by GetWell Pharmacy and it took place at TAMA Free Clinic in the city of Alpharetta.

Following the CDC guidelines, appointments were scheduled online. As the Pfizer vaccine for 5 to 11 years kids is recently approved by FDA, lot of parents lined up their kids in this free vaccination drive. As most of the adults already got both doses, either Pfizer or Moderna, they were offered booster shot.

Speaking on this occasion, TANA president Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu said “getting kids vaccinated early will improve the herd immunity. This is the 3rd COVID vaccination drive that we have conducted with the help of TAMA and Sunny Patel from GetWell Pharmacy.” TANA Board of Director Srinivas Lavu, Southeast Regional Coordinator Venkat Meesala, Joint Treasurer Bharath Maddineni, International Coordinator Hitesh Vadlamudi and several ad-hoc committee members were seen at the vaccination drive.

TAMA leadership mentioned that the next vaccination drive would be on December 4th, serving with no out of pocket costs. TAMA president Innaiah Yenumula, General Secretary Sairam Karumanchi, Cultural Secretary Srivalli Kamsali, Sports & Youth Secretary Srinivasulu Ramisetty, Community Services Secretary Tiru Chillapalli, and Bord of Directors Nagesh Doddaka, Srinivas Uppu, Praveen Boppana helped during this free vaccination drive.
