Saginaw, Michigan: The Sai Samaj of Saginaw commemorated its first anniversary with a vibrant and deeply spiritual three-day celebration held from July 18 to July 20, drawing hundreds of devotees from across Michigan and Canada.
The festivities were meticulously led by Dr. Murali Sharma Bhuvanagiri, alongside “Brahma Sri” Yugandhar Sarma Bhagavatula, the main priest of the Tri City Hindu temple; Shiva Shankar Phani Kumar Sharma from Missouri; and Sri Chilakamarri Venkat Ramanuja Charyulu, the head priest of Sai Samaj.
Their collaborative spiritual guidance elevated the ceremony’s devotional energy. The celebrations commenced on Friday with traditional rituals including Mahaganapati Puja and Ankurarpana, signifying auspicious beginnings, Saturday featured a full day of sacred offerings, starting with Sarva Devatha Mantaparadhana and Sarva Devatha Homam, followed by Mahalaxmi Homam and a powerful Mahalaxmi Kumkumarchana in the evening.
The grand finale on Sunday included the continuation of the Sarva Devatha Homam, a resplendent Maha Purnahuti, and the deeply revered 108 Kalasa Abhishekam to Sri Sadguru Saibaba. Devotees also witnessed a divine Sri Venkateshwara Kalyanam, bringing the celebrations to a blissful conclusion.
Devotees were immersed in Sai Baba’s devotion throughout the three days, with many expressing their joy and spiritual fulfillment. The atmosphere was one of reverence and unity. On the final day, Founders Dr. Murali Ginjupalli and Mr. Srinivasa Vemury conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers and patrons.
They emphasized the collective effort that went into establishing one of the largest Sai Baba temples in the United States. Looking ahead, the temple plans to install a Durga Mata statue during the upcoming Navaratri festival. Additional idols of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy and Lord Krishna are also planned, reflecting the temple’s commitment to honoring the broader Hindu pantheon.
In celebration of its first anniversary, the Sai Samaj of Saginaw proudly announced the formation of its inaugural Executive Committee, composed of dedicated individuals committed to the temple’s continued growth and service. Mrs. Shubha Srinivas was appointed as Executive Chair, with Mrs. Sneha Sunkara serving as Co-Chair.
The Construction Committee will be led by Mr. Babu Tyagarajan, Mr. Praneeth Koneru, and Mr. Sambasivarao Korrapati. Overseeing IT and Communication services are Karthikeyan Balakrishnan and Muralee Thamminana, while Public Relations will be managed by Mr. Rajesh Ojha.
The Decoration and Kitchen team includes Mrs. Rohini Vaidya, Monika Bhuti, and Vishakha Patki, and Swati Thyagarajan and Nirmal Loganathan will guide Youth and Cultural Programs. Together, this dynamic team reflects the temple’s strong foundation in community leadership and devotion.
