Rekha Radhakrishnan of Atlanta received AMEC’s Top 20 Women of Excellence Award at Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

Rekha Radhakrishnan (also known as Rekha Pallath) was named one of AMEC’s Top 20 Women of Excellence in 2025, a recognition she received on March 12th at Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. This award acknowledges her dedication to women empowerment, pursued through her efforts in Technology, Leadership Coaching, Music and Literature.

The Award was presented by the U.S. Rep Danny K. Davis, U.S. Rep Jonathan Jackson, U.S. Rep Shri Thanedar and Mayor of Maywood, IL, Nathaniel Booker. AMEC stands for American Multi Ethnic Commission, a bipartisan organization that empowers ethnic communities.

This was at the 13th Annual Congressional International Women’s Day celebration 2025. AMEC is lead by Dr. VGP, who is the founder of the organization. Rekha was nominated for this award by Mr. Mustafa Ajmeri, who is a well-known Atlanta community leader.

Rekha has over 18 years of experience in Information Technology and has worked with Top Industry leaders. She is a Certified Coach who has worked with several young professionals and entrepreneurs to be their best version.

As a playback singer Rekha has sung for 2 Kannada films, performed in more than 100 shows including tours and performances with celebrities like Bappi Lahiri, Adnan Sami and Tamanna Bhatia. She has helped raising funds for many underserved communities by collaborating with non-profits like Ekal Vidyalaya, Vibha.

Rekha is the grandniece of Padma Vibhushan, Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao, Economist, politician, and former union minister for education in India. Dr. Rao was the founder of Delhi School of Economics. Dr. Rao worked tirelessly for the social welfare and Rekha is committed to carrying forward his legacy by walking in his footsteps. “I strive to be the candle that lights 100 other candles. I will continue to raise awareness on social causes and support women to reach their full potential.” – says Rekha.
