Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS) Backhome Service, in association with Chess Network, successfully organized a Chess Education Program aimed at establishing structured chess education across all government schools in Metpally Mandal, Telangana.

This meaningful initiative is designed to benefit over 4,000 students by introducing chess as a tool for cognitive development, strategic thinking, and overall academic growth. As part of the program, chess boards were distributed to all government schools in Metpally Mandal, ensuring equal access and long-term sustainability of chess education at the grassroots level.

This initiative marks a significant step toward nurturing young minds and promoting intellectual sports in rural and semi-urban schools. GATeS extends heartfelt gratitude to the GATeS Atlanta team for their vision, commitment, and continuous support toward educational development back home.

Special thanks to Sri Sudhir Kodati garu and the Chess Network, along with the Chess Network Backhome Team, for their tireless efforts in planning, coordination, and execution of this program. GATeS sincere appreciation goes to ZPHS Vellulla Headmaster and all staff members, as well as all Headmasters and the entire team of Metpally Mandal government schools, for their cooperation and encouragement.

Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS) also thanks the parents and students whose enthusiasm and participation made the program a grand success. A special note of thanks to the Chief Guest, Dr. Sanjay Kalvakuntla Garu (MLA), for graciously taking time out of his busy schedule.

Dr. Sanjay Kalvakuntla’s interactive speech with the students, insightful knowledge sharing, and motivating words greatly inspired the children and added immense value to the event. This impactful program was successfully held on Saturday, 20th December 2025.

This Chess Education Program stands as a shining example of how collaborative efforts can create meaningful change in education. Once again, on behalf of Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS), thank you to everyone who involved in making this initiative a memorable and a successful one.
