Malvern, Pennsylvania, August 24, 2025: The Delaware Valley Team of the American Telugu Association (ATA) hosted a vibrant Summer Family Cookout at Valley Creek Park, Malvern, drawing close to 600 attendees from the local Telugu community and neighboring states.
The gathering beautifully recreated the spirit of Karthika Vanabhojanalu, a cherished Telugu tradition centered on community bonding, spirituality, and respect for nature. Families came together under the scenic pavilion to share meals, enjoy cultural fellowship, and participate in outdoor celebrations.
A standout highlight of the event was the authentic Indian food, freshly prepared on-site by a team of dedicated ATA volunteers, led by Local RC Venu Komatireddy. The rich flavors and homemade touch were thoroughly enjoyed by all and brought an added sense of warmth and togetherness to the community gathering.
The event also featured traditional childhood games, which evoked nostalgia for elders while introducing younger generations to the joys of Telugu culture. This initiative reflected ATA’s strong commitment to preserving heritage and passing cultural values on to the next generation.
Organizers extended their heartfelt gratitude to all participants, especially those who traveled from out of state to attend. They also praised the tireless efforts of the local ATA Pennsylvania-Delaware team, whose hard work made the event a grand success.
Speaking on the occasion, ATA Board Of Trustee “Raju Kakkerla said, “This picnic reflects the strength of our community, where culture, food, and friendship come together. By reviving traditions like Vanabhojanalu, we not only celebrate our roots but also ensure that future generations remain connected to them.”
With a perfect blend of culture, food, games, and unity, the ATA Summer Family Cookout at Valley Creek Park created a memorable day of joy, togetherness, and heritage. President Jayanth Challa expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated ATA PA/DE team for their unwavering commitment, which ensured the event’s resounding success.
