Successful ATA Women’s Day Celebrations @ Detroit, Michigan

The American Telugu Association (ATA) Detroit, Michigan chapter organized 2023 International Woman’s Day at the Novi Civic Center on Saturday, March 25th. We all know that “Little girls with dreams become women with vision”. Embracing them and celebrating gender equality is a great celebration.

The event was graced by over 200 women participants and local women dignitaries as special guests who are excelling in their respective field including Padma Kuppa (Ex Member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 41st district), Priya Mann (Anchor/Reporter WDIV-Local 4), Hima Kolanagireddy (Michigan 6th District Republican Committee Chair), Kristina Karamo (Chair of the Michigan Republican Party) & Terry Merecki (Wayne County Official).

It was a pleasure to have these guests from diverse community leaders for this ATA International Women’s Day. All the woman guests spoke about how the women have multiple avenues to excel and serve their local communities, be it becoming entrepreneurs or venturing into politics.

They also reminded the women to respect our Indian culture and traditions and pass it on to our next generation kids. The ATA Detroit regional coordinator Swapna Kalva anchored the evening, entertained the attendees and engaged them thoroughly by conducting live dance performances, games and prizes to winners.

The event was organized under the supervision of ATA national executive committee members Kashi Kotha Reddy, Hari Reddy, Sunny Reddy, and ATA regional coordinators Ashok Reddy Gudi, Swapna Kalva, Sreekanth Reddy, Aditya Reddy and other ATA Committee team members SriCharan, Sridhar Thippireddy, Venu Suraparaju.

Yugandhar Bhumireddy, Dr. Ashok Kondur, Santosh, Kakulavaram, Murali Bommanaveni, Chenchu Reddy, Dhanaraj Reddy, Sunil Manduti, Sunil Marri, Srikanth Gayam, Vinod Atmakur & with other Women volunteers Subratha Gaddam, Swapna Ellendula , Likhitha Karnala, Manu Gondi and Padma Kalapuram made this event successful. Detroit ATA team is looking forward to make many more events by involving diverse groups going forward.
