ATA responds to American Red Cross blood shortage in Sterling, Virginia

Sterling, Virginia: Recently, the American Red Cross has declared a critical emergency blood shortage, highlighting the alarmingly low blood supply. They are urging eligible individuals to donate blood to help alleviate this issue.

In response, the American Telugu Association (ATA) has organized blood drives in various cities across the United States. On Saturday, August 30, 2025, ATA partnered with INOVA to host a successful blood drive in Virginia, resulting in about 50 donations from ATA members.

Ravi Challa and Zeenath Kundoor, along with several members of the American Telugu Association (ATA) DMV (Washington Metropolitan Area) Chapter, effectively coordinated the blood drive.

Previous blood drives were conducted in the cities including Atlanta on August 9, and more are scheduled in cities such as Los Angeles, New Jersey, Dallas, and Nashville, among many others.
